Design and paint an original geometric composition inspired by the monuments of Multan. Participants will analyse ceramic and wood pattern elements from several shrines and learn to construct geometric motifs using traditional methods.

In addition, different approaches to achieving beautiful and harmonious colour will be introduced via and each class member will apply what they have learned in a painting of their own design. By the end of the week, each participant will have completed a large, painted geometric design suitable for framing.

This course is suitable both for beginners : and advanced geometry students and provides a foundation in design principles transferable to ceramics, woodwork, painting, or textiles.

Class members will also contribute to a large collaborative composition inspired by the architecture of Multan which will be included at an exhibition in the VM Gallery in September 2018.
