This is an introductory course on the art of Ottoman Illumination. Students will be introduced to the motifs and vocabulary of this art form , how these motifs are used to create compositions and some floral painting techniques. Through this course they will be able to understand the basic principles and process of the art of illumination, practically experience this art form and understand its historical significance.
