A deep understanding of traditional methods, materials and philosophy inspires Farkhondeh Ahmadzadeh’s work as a contemporary artist. In her illustrated talk, Farkhondeh will discuss the processes behind her beautiful manuscript paintings, including: geometric techniques of composition, paper preparation for calligraphy and painting, colour symbolism, and the preparation of traditional pigments. She will also discuss the symbolic interrelationship of number, pattern, and the days of the week explored in her recent solo exhibition, ‘Haft Paykar.’
