Mughal marvels – hand painted ceramic tiles in the Sat-Rangi style!

Course Description:

This is your chance to get a taste of working in a royal atelier! Take a peek into how the Mughals created their magnificent monuments by preparing a ceramic tile based on the geometry adorning ShahJehan’s mosque in Thatta. Colour it in using the unique satrangi – seven colour – oil resist technique. Take it home and tell your friends all about our royal heritage!

Introduction to Islamic Art of Illumination

Geometry of Khattim Sulayman

Learn to draw and paint the historic Khatim Sulayman seal of the prophets seen throughout the golden ages of Islam: Using simple step by step traditional geometry techniques.

Students will have a complete painted design to take home by the end of the class.
