Course Outline Description:
The medium of choice for medieval and early Renaissance painters, egg tempera creates a luminous, glowing finish that is unmatched by any other medium.
In this session, students will be introduced to, and have an opportunity to explore this little-known medium.

Materials required for this course:
- Heavy, hot press/smooth watercolour paper (300gms recommended)
- Tracing paper with the pattern traced on it with a B pencil
- 2H or H pencil
- Masking tape
- Watercolour, fine hair brushes. Natural hair preferred. 00, 1, 3 and 5 (Winsor Newton 7 Series; tutor recommended)
- Flat brush (anywhere between size 4 and 7)
- Gouache or watercolour TUBE paints
- Will be needing 1 refrigerated egg but best of have a couple of spares at hand
- 9.Bowl (to separate egg yolk and white over)
- 10.Small, clean, transparent bottle with at least 1″ wide neck
- 2 jars of water
- Tissuesor blotting paper
